There were pres- t ent not less than five hundred ----- people, an immense concourse of the friends of the deceased gentle man having assembled from va rious sections. " , ; At the grave' the Pythians and. Masonic order?, both of which Mr. Sherrill was a member h served their burial service. Mr. Sherrill wan 52 years old at his death and has been identified with nearly every forward step ta ken in his community. He had built up a prosperous, mercantile business and when the North Car t ohna Midland Railroad was con structed the station of Mt. Ulla was established yon his property about fifty yards; from his iesi dencb and he was appointed to the agency. He had been for many years a consistent member of .t the Cleveland Baptist church, lie was a member of the Masonic, Py thian, Hepfasoph and Arcanum fraternities, and in the 2 latter he carried insurance. . In the councils of the Democrat ic party Mr, Sherrill will be sorely milled.'
